Post-16 Choices
In Year 11, students will need to consider the next steps in their education or training. Young people now need to stay in some form of education or training until they are at least 18. You can find out more here.
Students can choose from a range of options. Many stay on at Meadowhead Sixth Form; some choose a new setting post-16. We have lots of students keen to move onto apprenticeships or traineeships, while others opt to study at local colleges or smaller training providers.
Finding out more
Students are supported to use Sheffield Progress to find out what is on offer and make applications.
Students will get independent, impartial advice and guidance throughout this process, including group or one-to-one meetings with our careers advisers.
We are keen for parents to be actively involved throughout. You can contact Mr Collins (Careers Leader), if you wish to arrange a meeting or discuss this further.
