Trust Members

Every Trust, as charitable companies limited by guarantee, has Members who oversee the governance of the Trust. They play an essential role in holding the board of trustees to account.

Members are the guardians of governance in the Trust and sit at the top of the governance structure. Their primary role is to assess if the board of trustees is performing its duties well, and that the charitable objects of the Trust are being fulfilled.

The core functions of the Trust Members are:

• To ensure the Trust is meeting its charitable objectives by holding
• trustees to account and ensuring effective governance.
• To receive the annual report and accounts from trustees
• To appoint and remove trustees from the trust board
• To appoint the Trust’s auditors
• To retain responsibility for the Trust’s Articles of Association
