Online Safety

Welcome to our online safety section of our website.  The Internet plays an integral role in all our everyday lives. It allows us to connect with people from all over the world, learn new things, and access an endless amount of information. However, with the many benefits of the Internet also come risks and dangers that can threaten our safety and wellbeing.

As a student, it is important to learn how to navigate the online world safely and responsibly. This website is here to provide students with the tools and knowledge you need to stay safe online and parents with a one-stop shop for support.

From understanding cyberbullying and how to deal with it, to learning about online privacy and security, our website covers a range of important topics. We believe that with the right information and guidance, you can enjoy the Internet for school work and fun while staying safe and protected.

At Meadowhead School our aim is to teach young people to ‘become responsible users of technology’.  Technology offers a host of benefits to young people when used in the correct way.

A whole school approach is used to ensure that students receive regular teaching through a variety of curriculum and pastoral sources. The Computing / ICT department deliver sessions ranging from safe use of social media to how to deal with inappropriate content. The Ethics department teach a range of topics from online gambling, grooming and extremist web content. Students will also receive updates in assemblies and through work with their form tutors.

We have divided our support information into two areas, one targeted at parents and one for students - please click the links to the left.
