Everyone a Writer 2022
Our 9th annual Everyone A Writer celebration took place on Thursday 7th July, with the in-person evening celebration event launching this year’s anthology.
Students had submitted pieces linked to the theme “New Beginnings” in their English lessons earlier in the year, and those published in the anthology were invited to the event, alongside students from Lower Meadow and Abbey Lane who joined for the celebration.
Some of our pupils read their entries aloud to a packed school hall, and prizes were awarded to the best entries in primary, Y7, Y8, Y9 and Artwork categories.
All writers who attended the evening were given a special tote bag with their own copy of the anthology.
We were delighted to welcome performance poet Andy Craven-Griffiths as special guest to the event and the audience enjoyed listening to poems written for the primary age children, Y7s and adults. Andy had spent the day delivering workshops to students nominated for their submissions to the anthology and general positive behaviour and engagement in English lessons.
Next year marks ten years of Everyone A Writer and promises to be another special event!
Please enjoy reading the anthology below, , and you can read about Andy's poetry workshops here
