GCSE Certificate and Awards Evening 2024
On Wednesday 27th November, we celebrated the achievements of our Y11 leavers at the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel.
It was great to see such a good number of students and families there. As well as receiving their hard-earned GCSE Certificates, students heard inspirational words from Martin McKervey, non-executive director of AESSEAL plc and chair of the Sheffield Property Association, and from Mrs Grewal-Joy. Special thanks go to Miss Foster, Heidi and Ethan for leading the presentation, and for helping to make it such a fantastic evening.
As well as presenting the GCSE Certificates, we also awarded the following in recognition of students' contributions and attitudes throughout their time at Meadowhead:
Service Award
The Service Award recognises pupils’ achievements that take place outside of the classroom.
Congratulations Phoebe!
Congratulation to Beth, former student at Abbey Lane Primary School, who received a Service Award at the GCSE Certificate Evening on Wednesday 27th November. The Service Award recognises pupils’ achievements that take place outside of the classroom. Beth received this award for her excellent achievements in sports leadership.
Congratulation to Finlay, former student at Bradway Primary School, who received the Phil Mintoft Science Award at the GCSE Certificate Evening on Wednesday 27th November. This award recognises a students exceptional achievements in science, in memory of Phil Mintoft, a former assistant headteacher.
Congratulations to the Class of 24, Student Leadership Team: Ethan, Eliza, Heidi, Gabriella, Phoebe and Marc who all received the Service Award.

Congratulation to Harriette, former student at Norton Free CE Primary School, who received the Achievement Award at the GCSE Certificate Evening on Wednesday 27th November. The Achievement Award is given to a pupil who showed exceptional ability across all of their qualifications.
Progress Award
The Progress Award seeks to recognise progress across a range of subjects. The progress award goes to a pupil who has greatly exceeded their target as well as having performed at the very highest levels.

Awarded for science in memory of Phil Mintoft, a former assistant headteacher.

Since the year 2000, a History prize has been awarded in memory of Bryan Marsden, a former deputy headteacher.

Awarded for a student who overcame significant adversity to achieve well at the end of Year 11.
