Phoenix Athletes of the Year - Make a Difference Awards
A huge congratulations to the Phoenix athletes who won the four individual sporting awards at the event earlier in the summer.
Katie H (Y11) won the award for performance in a team sport (female) in her sport of basketball. She has represented Yorkshire, England North and now the England team for her age group for the second year running.
Imogen L (Y10) won the award for performance in an individual sport (female) for her sport of climbing. Imogen was selected for the British team after excellent performances at the national trials. She came 9th in the world in her age group in a recent competition in Austria and has just returned from the World Youth Championships in China in September.
Both Imogen and Katie were unable to attend the awards night due to sporting commitments so received their awards in a recent ceremony with Mrs Grewal-Joy.
Henry E (former Y13) won the award for performance in an individual sport (male) for his sport of taekwondo. Despite his young age, he won gold at the British Championships in one adult category and silver in another. He also represented Great Britain at the World Championship.
Arthur B (Y9) overcame significant adversity to win the award for performance in a team sport (male) in his sport of football. As well as excellent
performances for the Y8 football team throughout the season, he was also named as player of the tournament as part of the side that won the inaugural EFD cup in Nottingham, beating a strong Bulwell side 3-0 in the final.

- Performance in an individual sport (female) - shortlisted: Sophie H (Diving), Ava- Rose M (Cross Fit), Lucy M-F (Trampolining), Sophie P (Swimming), Nicole R (Athletics), Amelie T (Athletics), Ella W (Trampolining), Chloe W (Golf).
- Performance in an individual sport (female) - shortlisted: Oliver W (Tennis), Oscar A (Tennis), Brayan C (Thai Boxing).
