Meadowhead Sixth Formers achieve yet another incredibly strong set of results
On Thursday 15th August, Meadowhead’s Sixth Formers received results that match the very high standards set by their peers in 2023. On an incredibly positive morning, students and their families joined Meadowhead staff to open their results. Given the levels of pandemic-related disruption faced by these students in their younger years, it is an incredible testament to the students’ hard work and commitment, and the support and knowledge of Meadowhead’s teachers to again achieve so highly.
At A Level, around a third of entries achieved either an A* or A grade and over 60% of entries were grade B or above. 23% of students achieved the elite measure of at least AAB with at least 2 facilitating subjects (well above the 2023 national state school average of 15.8%). Across the six BTEC subjects, the average grade was again a Distinction (D).
The success was spread across a range of courses and subjects: 88% of students on the History course achieved a B grade or above and nearly 80% of students in English Literature achieved the same feat. Two-thirds of students doing Further Maths achieved an A* while three-quarters of students studying Art achieved at least a B. Results were also impressive in subjects such as Chemistry, English Language, French, Maths, Psychology, Sociology and Spanish (all over 60% B and above).
