Meadowhead Students Say “Thank You for Making a Difference”
During the final weeks of the academic year, Meadowhead students have been saying a personal and heartfelt thank you to teachers and support staff for making a difference with their commitment, knowledge and support.
As part of this, students have said a special thank you to long-serving staff members who are leaving the school this summer. We said goodbye to Lesley Tomlinson after a teaching career of over fifty years and seventeen at Meadowhead as an English and SEN teacher, and Steve Bacon who has spent eleven years with the school as first Head of Science and then as part of the school’s leadership.
Student presentations were held for Sarah Hully (Maths - ten years), Laura Cheatle (Science - seven years) and Charlotte Coey (Religious Studies – four years). From history, students said fond goodbyes to Head of History Victoria Howard (five years) and Mujda Ameen (four), while from English, warm farewells were said to Rebecca Dale (nine years).
Student artists led presentations for Michelle Vesey (eight years), Helen Akbary (six years), Mark Lambert (three years) as well as technician Emma Allen (five years).
Finally presentations were held for Oscar Unwin, a member of the school’s support staff who has been at Meadowhead for six years, and Jessica Oyerinde who has been a behaviour manager for six years.
We wish these staff all the very best in their new roles or in their well-deserved retirements! If parents and families would like to send a thank you to these staff or any others, please email enquiries@meadowhead.sheffield.sch.uk and we will pass the message on.
