Kindness: A Legacy of the Holocaust
On Thursday 9th February we were privileged to have Voices of the Holocaust production company come to school to perform 'Kindness: A Legacy of the Holocaust', a groundbreaking new verbatim Holocaust play about survivor Susan Pollock OBE, commissioned by Voices of the Holocaust.
The play told the story of Susan, a Holocaust survivor, whom at the age of 15 was sent to Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen. After the war she found out that more than 50 of her relatives had been killed and that only her brother survived. The play was followed by a 10-15 minute Q&A session for students to ask questions about the Holocaust and drama.
This play formed part of our extra-curricular provision for Y9 students who are currently studying the Holocaust in History lessons. We hope it was educational and thought-provoking for the students.
