Y12s enjoy masterclass at Sheffield Hallam University
On Friday 13th January, our Year 12 Chemistry A-level students visited Sheffield Hallam University for a masterclass in making aspirin and to find out what life would be like as science undergraduates.
They enjoyed learning new practical techniques like vacuum filtration and thin layer chromatography and showed a great range of skills. Students were also given a mini-lecture on chemical engineering which included finding out how Nando’s trap energy from their grills to heat hot water.
