Meadowhead Engagement and Welfare Team

Based in a specially designed student support area (the Bridge), the Engagement and Welfare Team brings together any support that pupils may need.  Established to remove barriers to learning, the team consists of the Learning Support Team led by the school's Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) and other experts including Educational Welfare Officers (EWOs), Behaviour Managers, Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Mentors and the Safeguarding Team.

The Bridge itself provides a space for 1:1 or group interventions in all areas of need.  Some students may be offered the Bridge as a space to regulate if needed.

The team has close links with outside agencies and has regular meetings with many of their representatives.

Support in lessons and in small withdrawal groups is provided when needed for those students who have significant difficulties in making academic, emotional and social progress when compared to their peers.

The Council's Local Offer page is at: http://www.sheffielddirectory.org.uk/kb5/sheffield/fsd/localoffer.page
