Sam Johnson
Class of 2014
Languages Student - Spanish and French BA Joint honours Nottingham Trent University
"I'm currently on my year abroad in Spain, this is a photo from last year where I was a part time translator for Notts County Football Club, I was translating for a Spanish coach at training sessions so if there was anything the coach couldn't say to the players, or the players to coach it was my job to translate. It gave me the opportunity to travel to teams like Manchester City and Arsenal too.
I'm now an FLA in Murcia but I'm living in Alicante - I plan to do 8 months in Alicante and 8 months in Nice. In the future I want to be a player liaison officer of translator for a football club."
We ask our former students for one piece of advice which they would give to themselves as a 16 year old. Sam's is:
"No matter how hard or how much you don't like certain things or subjects persevere with it and try have fun and most of all just give it your all!"
