Y12 Work Experience
Just before Easter, Year 12 students at Meadowhead School spent a fantastic week gaining work experience at a wide range of organisations, including Universities, hospitals, schools, charities, and local businesses from letting agents to engineers, and from beauty salons to gene therapists.
Gabby spent a week at Sheffield Hallam University's Advanced Well-being Research Centre, and was asked to write a blog detailing her experiences, which has been published by the University - click the link to read more about the amazing work that goes on and Gabby's reflections.
"I have enjoyed this work experience so much and have found it so helpful and insightful. It has really helped me to understand the world of work and all the different types of jobs. All of the team at the AWRC have been so lovely and made my week so good. Thank you all so much!" |
Work experience is a core plank of Meadowhead's outstanding careers and progression support programme that runs throughout students' time here. We are extremely grateful to all of our partners who kindly offer to accommodate our students and provide them with these enriching, exciting and enjoyable opportunities.
Many employers got in touch to comment on the excellent conduct of our students, how they went out of their way to contribute and to learn, and how they accepted and acted upon feedback in order to become even more effective in their roles. Some students have even been offered employment at their placement, having made such a positive impression.
Well done to our students who have made such a positive step in the world of work.
