War of the Worlds - Y8 Creative Responses

Last week (1st-5th June) the English team ran a competition for Y8 students based on the novel War of the Worlds. Thank you so much to everyone who entered - what a fantastic effort from the year group!

We were overwhelmed by the standard of entries and found it extremely difficult to choose just five winners. We have decided to appoint five winners who will receive an R3, and five runners up who will receive an R2.

Everyone who entered will receive an R1. You have really shown the range of talents in your year group and should all be proud of yourselves. Well done Y8!

As the aliens have now landed across the country wreaking havoc on the lives of innocent civilians, a state of emergency has been declared by the government. Stay at home and leave the work to the professionals. Already the armies of our country and many allies have been posted to fend off the foul beasts, risking their lives for the safety of you the reader and others across the UK. As tension rises across the globe countries lay waiting for the next attack. Preparation and defences have already been implemented in major cities and ocean towns to prepare for the worst. However, as the armies of America, France and the UK battle we are learning much more to use against the enemy. By Reuben Allin
