VE Day Preparations
We are delighted with these early submissions for the VE Day History Challenge this week. Thank you to Imogen Walker 8C for her painted flags here.
Oscar Nichols in 7G sent us in all these great images of his work - he has made bunting for their front window using his dad's old jeans because he needed blue fabric (very resourceful Oscar!). He has also coloured in pictures of the Union Jack and on the day is planning on making homity pie and eggless cakes. Oscar also told us about his great grandads - one worked on the Lancaster bombers in a Bolton factory and the other was in the navy in the Atlantic convoys. The painting shown was done by his grandad of his ship, the HMS Sweetbriar, and was used for the front cover of a booklet about the ship. Oscar sent us the picture of his great grandad in his uniform.
These excellent flags have been created by Eva (Y7) and Guy (Y11) Harrison
A great job everyone!
