Our annual presentation of GCSE Certificates at the Octagon on Tuesday 13th November was a real celebration of last year’s Y11 students. As well as their GCSE certificates, a large number of students also received Service, Achievement and Progress Awards to much applause from families, friends and staff. A special mention goes to Phoebe Unwin who was awarded the Bryan Marsden History Prize, and to Amy Oldham who was awarded the Philip Mintoft Science Prize.
Our guest of honour presenting the certificates was local Councillor Bob Pullin. Bob spoke of his many and varied experiences which included his time as teacher, magistrate and Halls of Residence staff, with messages to students to approach problems with humour, to learn from mistakes, choose your friends wisely and be creative, original and independent. Bob concluded by leading everyone into a loud three cheers for Meadowhead School!
Our last year's Y11 Head Boy, his Deputy and Head Girl with Mrs Grewal-Joy, Mrs Taylor (Chair of Governors) and Mr Pullin
We would like to thank Bob Pullin and everyone who supported this event and we wish all students and their families the very best.
